OK Go and Chevy Rock the Internet
If you don’t know who OK Go is at this point, you must’ve spent the last half decade living under a rock. Nothing against rocks; we’re sure yours was very nice, but if there was a Mount Rushmore of YouTube stars, Ok Go would be chiseled into the side of the mountain.
But what do they have to do with Chevy? It’s a great question, and one that can easily be answered by watching the following video:
Leave it to these guys to do something outrageous for what was sure to be a viral music video hit, and if you were looking close enough you likely noticed that the vehicle undergoing this barrage of desert musicality was the 2012 Chevy Sonic, something that Grayslake new Sonic dealers like ourselves obviously love.
In the past they’ve done choreographed dances on treadmills, created an intricate Rube-Goldberg machine, done insane things with stop motion filming, and now this. According to Damian Kulash, the band’s frontman, it took over a month to decide which objects would make the right sounds to sync up with the song, then another month to construct the route in the desert. Toss in three days to learn stunt driving and four days to actually film it all, and you’ve got quite a lengthy process just to record a music video and do a little promoting for the new Sonic.
Of course we here at Ray Chevrolet aren’t going to complain. The video is creeping up on 13 million views in just a week on the web, which equates to a whole lot of eyes on one our best-selling new vehicles. Now, instead of living under a rock, you’re rocking out, and it’s all thanks to OK Go and Chevrolet.
